Grout weight needed based on tile size and joint width.
Use unsanded grout for joints 1/8" or smaller — sanded grout can scratch polished tile surfaces. Use sanded grout for joints 3/16" or larger for better strength and crack resistance. Epoxy grout is the most durable option for kitchens and wet areas but is more expensive and harder to work with.
Always mix grout to peanut butter consistency and work in small sections. Haze must be cleaned within 30–60 minutes before it hardens on the tile face.
