Posts, rails, and pickets for a wood privacy fence.
Call 811 (USA) before digging any post holes — underground utility lines must be marked. Post holes should be 1/3 the total post length in depth, with a minimum of 24" for 6 ft fences. Set posts in concrete and let cure 24–48 hours before attaching rails.
Use pressure-treated lumber rated for ground contact (UC4B) for posts. Cedar or redwood are naturally decay-resistant alternatives for rails and pickets. Pressure-treated pickets are more economical but may warp more over time.
